Warm & Natural

Wide-plank white oak. Wider boards and lighter, more natural finishes are replacing the dark, narrow strip flooring of years past — it reads warmer and makes a room feel larger.

Patterned hardwood. Herringbone and chevron layouts are having a real moment, especially in entryways and living areas where the pattern can be the focal point of the room.

Toasty, warm-toned palettes. Honey, walnut, and caramel tones are edging out the cool grays that dominated the last decade, pairing well with warmer cabinetry and metal finishes.

Durable & Practical

Large-format porcelain tile. Bigger tiles mean fewer grout lines and a cleaner look, and today's porcelain does a convincing job mimicking natural stone and wood at a fraction of the maintenance.

Waterproof engineered flooring. Increasingly the default for kitchens, mudrooms, and bathrooms — it holds up to moisture and daily wear while still looking like real wood underfoot.

Honed natural stone. A matte, honed finish on marble or limestone gives a softer, more understated look than polished stone, and it's more forgiving of scuffs and etching over time.
